Sow: Seeds direct or in seed trays
Sow in Summer, Autumn and Winter, avoid hot part of year
Space: Thin out plants to 40cm apart
Position: Full Sun. Likes well drained compost rich soil and a sunny spot. Keep watered.
Uses: Blue green leaves tinged reddish and with purplish-red veins make for a pretty addition to the garden. Leaves have a tender sweet and mild flavour, use in salads when small and are high in vitamins.
Harvest: After 8 weeks
Mature plants tolerate frost with the flavour enhanced by frost.
